About Elisabeth

download.JPG

As a child I drew continuously, when in the car, in my room, at recess, however, it was not until college and learning from my professor, Ann Gale, that I came to learn how to see as a painter and consequently was completely captivated by the world of painting and all of its potential to expand the horizons of the image. My desire to grow this capacity led me to Israel, where I studied at the Jerusalem Studio School. I spent several summers painting in Italy and absorbing Italian art—from Roman frescoes to Morandi’s studies. I am currently in a place of digesting and assimilating the past several years of learning, developing myself and my work as grounded in the tradition of painting, but very much alive and present in the time and place of now, rendering carefully the manifold visual appearances of the material world.
